Terms and Conditions

Please read the following booking conditions carefully, as they set the terms and conditions between you and WAKU WAKU SAFARIS.

Also take note that WAKU WAKU SAFARIS purchases its accommodations, restaurant services and other services from various independent suppliers that are not subject to WAKU WAKU SAFARIS' control. All such persons and entities are independent contractors. However, we ensure that the suppliers we contract have the licenses required under the laws of the land, and possess the required Health & Safety Certificates.

 

1. Liability:

​

  • WAKU WAKU SAFARIS will ensure smooth operation of the safaris but is not liable for delays in departure or interruption of tour arrangements caused by, but not limited to, acts of God, strikes, or any other causes beyond the control of WAKU WAKU SAFARIS.

 

  • Every effort will be made to operate as planned, but alterations may occur after the final itinerary has been issued.

  • Accommodation and arranged sightseeing activities are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances or circumstances beyond WAKU WAKU SAFARIS' control.

  • WAKU WAKU SAFARIS reserves the right to decline to accept or retain any person as a passenger should such person's health, mental condition, physical infirmity or general deportment impede the operation of the trip or the rights or welfare or enjoyment of other passengers, at his/her own expense. Participants who are disruptive or endanger the group or the travel experience, or break local laws may be removed from the tour with no refund due and at their own expense.


2. Group Departures

 

All group programmes will only operate with a minimum of four passengers, except in cases of force majeure beyond WAKU WAKU SAFARIS' control.

3. Taxes, Tips & Gratuities: 

​

All normal room taxes and service charges as levied by hotels are included. Gratuities are not included in the programme price, these are at the guest's discretion. We advise that amounts should be based on the level of satisfaction with the service received.

4. Itineraries

​

  • Accommodations including arranged game drives or excursions are subject to change if impeded by unforeseen circumstances or circumstances beyond WAKU WAKU SAFARIS' control. Every effort will be made to operate itineraries as planned, but alterations may occur after the final itinerary has been issued.

  • Waku Waku Safaris also reserves the right to withdraw a programme, or any part of it, to make alterations to the itinerary or the programme inclusions as it deems necessary or desirable, if delays or events beyond its control apply.


5. Special Requests

 

Specific requests such as adjacent or connecting rooms, bedding requests, smoking rooms and special dietary needs should be advised at time of booking. Please note that every effort will be made to secure a special request, however, it cannot be guaranteed.

6. Prices and Arrangements

​

  • Quoted programme prices include planning, handling and operational charges, and are based on current rates of exchange, tariffs and taxes.

 

  • Waku Waku Safaris reserves the right to increase programme prices to cover increased costs, tariffs, taxes and V.A.T. received after prices are published, and to reflect fluctuations in foreign exchange markets.

  • WAKU WAKU SAFARIS is under no obligation to give a breakdown in costs involved in any programme.


7. Early Check-in

 

WAKU WAKU SAFARIS requests all hotels to provide this service whenever possible; however, check-in time as a rule is mid-afternoon at all hotels. Consideration of early check-in is dependent on availability.

8. Active Elements

 

  • Some active elements have been incorporated into select itineraries. To enjoy the trip as intended, a minimum level of fitness is required. WAKU WAKU SAFARIS will require prior notice if any participant has any physical or other condition or disability that could create a hazard to him/herself or to other members of the group.

 

  • WAKU WAKU SAFARIS reserves the right to decline acceptance of anyone who its supplier(s) consider unsuitable due to fitness level. Should you have any questions or need any clarification about a specific programme, please ask for details at the time of booking.


9. Cancellation Charges

​

*In the event of written cancellation, the following forfeiture of programme cost will be assessed based on the number of days prior to programme departure that the cancellation was received:

  • 90-60 days prior 20% of the programme cost

 

  • 59-30 days prior 50% of the programme cost

 

  • 29 days or less 100% of the programme cost


10. Cancellation Charges for Extra Services:

Additional hotel nights and other extra services booked in connection with
WAKU WAKU SAFARIS programmes are subject to the following:

 

  • cancellations received 31 or more days prior to the service will be refunded in full 

​

  • cancellations received 30-15 days in advance will be charged 50% of the cost

​

  • cancellations received less than 15 days in advance will be charged 100% of the cost


11. Air Fares

 

International airfares are not included in the programme costs. WAKU WAKU SAFARIS has special agreements with many airlines and can offer quotations from any gateway worldwide. All international and domestic air fares are subject to change and availability at the time of reservation.

12. Passports: 

​

It is the traveller's responsibility to ensure that all their visa and passport requirements are met. All travellers should be in possession of a passport that is valid for at least six months beyond their entry date.

13. Visas:

​

Visas may be required for most passport holders. However, it is suggested that you consult your local Consulate/Embassy on visa requirements.

14. Health:

​

Health regulations for some countries visited may require proof of inoculation and/or vaccination certificate; such certificates should be in your possession throughout the entire tour. It is our recommendation that you consult your personal physician for additional information. WAKU WAKU SAFARISs will not be held liable if you do not have proper vaccinations/inoculations.

15. Travel Insurance

 

We strongly recommend that you purchase a travel insurance policy for the duration of your tour in case there are any unforeseen circumstances e.g. delayed luggage, cancellation of flights leading to loss of holiday time, loss of personal effects, medical expenses while on the tour, and other factors that may lead to the cancellation of your tour.

16. Rates & Fares

 

  • Unless otherwise indicated, all rates shown are in United States Dollars and are per person sharing a double/twin room. Quoted tour costs are based on the rates of exchange, tariffs and taxes applicable at the time of preparing your proposal.

  • Waku Waku Safaris reserves the right to increase tour costs to cover any increase in Park Entrance Fees, Air Fares, Taxes, and fluctuations in foreign exchange currency.


17. Tour Price Exclusions

 

Your tour cost does not include: air transportation (unless specifically stated as included), visa fees; any immunizations (If required); health certificates; airport taxes and country departure taxes (if applicable); all items of a personal nature; drinks, beverages and meals not specified; gratuity to tour escorts and driver guides; excess baggage charges; insurance; excursions not included on the itinerary; laundry; room service and any other items/services not listed on your confirmed itinerary.
